Role and Responsibilities

The essential roles and responsibilities are outlined below:

  • Identify, repair, replace and calibrate field devices including sensors, output signals, controllers, and basic electrical components.
  • Drive to and from customer sites as needed
  • Assist the senior level controls technicians
  • Inventory parts, material and labor per job
  • Complete all paperwork in an accurate and timely manner
  • Observe, report and correct unsafe work environments
  • Will be included in on call rotation as needed according to business volume and requirements

Qualifications and Requirements

  • A minimum of 2 years of building automation controls, or similar, experience and/or the equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record to be able to drive a company provided vehicle
  • Must successfully pass a background check
  • Can navigate in N4 software, make minor modifications, and execute functions needed to execute expected Level I commissioning and programming
  • Understanding of Relays, Switches, Electronic components, and devices. Can troubleshoot, repair, and replace as needed.
  • VAV / FCU / RTU – Can independently start up these systems and similar style systems.
  • Ability to successfully interface and communicate with customers to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Solid air distribution knowledge (VAV / FCU / RTU / AHU), basic knowledge of hydronic systems (CHW System / HW System / Steam Heat)Ability to troubleshoot basic electro-mechanical devices
  • Basic networking knowledge / MS Office / Ability to install software / Ability to manipulate IP schemes / Able to work with customer IT groups to troubleshoot network communication issues.
  • Ability to read, troubleshoot and identify problem before escalating to senior team member
  • Ability to Commission and Download a controller changeout.
  • High level of service to both Internal/External. Remaining solution oriented and focused on the customer need.
  • Ability to abide by basic safe work practices
  • Physical Requirements - Occasional sitting, frequent stooping, crouching, kneeling, balancing and climbing. Constant standing, walking, reaching and gripping. Vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Must be able to talk and hear. Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs. (maximum solo lift) and constant lifting to 25 lbs., placing this position in the very heavy physical demand classification (PDC)
