Cambridge, United States ARTBIO Full time
Job DescriptionJob DescriptionSalary:

About Us

ARTBIO is re-defining cancer care by developing a new class of radioligand therapies (RLT) which harness the power of 212Pb and deliver it directly to the tumors. Targeted RLT is one of the fastest growing areas of oncology research and investment. The foundational technology, termed AlphaDirect, was born out of elegant research by our scientific founders, Roy Larsen and Øyvind Bruland, inventors of XofigoTM. ARTBIO is leveraging this groundbreaking science and expediting novel Drug Discovery targets which broadly exploit the unmet medical need and opportunity in revolutionizing cancer care. Supported by a committed investment board including Omega Funds, F-Prime Capital, Radforsk and Third Rock Ventures, ARTBIO has built a highly experienced, multi-disciplinary team of drug-hunters and developers. For more information on our strategy and emerging pipeline, please visit www.artbio.com and follow-us on LinkedIn.

As an emerging, global biotech with locations in Boston, Massachusetts, Basel, Switzerland, London, England and Oslo, Norway, we take advantage of diverse scientific depth and insights which makes ARTBIO a unique place to work. We are driven by a desire to do better for cancer patients, lowering the burden of toleration and safety while at the same time raising the bar on clinical efficacy and duration.

Summary

We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated Research Scientist of Biochemistry and Biophysics to join the Early Discovery team. At ARTBIO, we couple our ability to generate 212Pb to novel chemical scaffolds which are developed to specifically bind to tumor targets with high affinity. This opportunity is for an individual who strives to innovate, is never satisfied with routine, and has a strong heart for ARTBIO’s mission. A self-starter and innovator, you will be part of a cross-function team to lead key programs from our internal and partnered Discovery portfolio as well as support the build of the Early Discovery Biology disciplines.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategies to leverage biochemical and biophysical characterization to guide SAR development.
  • Independently design, develop and troubleshoot biochemical and biophysical experiments for characterizing the binding of small molecules and peptides to targets of interest through H2L, LO, and DC stages.
  • Perform compound screening using biochemical and biophysical assays, such as SPR, ITC, TR-FRET, AlphaLisa, and etc.
  • Maintain detailed records, analyze and interpret the data, generate SAR reports.
  • Transfer optimized biochemical and biophysical assays to CRO partners and manage CRO relationships to support, guide, and troubleshoot biophysical and biochemical experiments.
  • Present scientific work at the internal and external meetings, write manuscripts for publication.
  • Stay scientifically current and adopt emerging technologies to drug discovery process.

Qualifications & Experience

  • PhD degree in biochemistry, biophysics, or related discipline, with at least 2 years of experience in developing small molecule and peptide ligands in an industry setting is required.
