About You:

As the Date Entry Pharmacy Technician at CareMax, you'll be the linchpin in addressing pharmacy-related inquiries from our members and providers. Your primary focus will be on ensuring effective medication management, orchestrating improvements in the generic dispensing rate (GDR) by facilitating brand-to-generic conversions in alignment with health plan formularies. You'll serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for medication-related inquiries within our medical center.


Description of Role

The position of Data Entry Pharmacy Technician consists of inputting patients’ demographic and prescription information into the pharmacy software system.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains a safe and clean pharmacy by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Helps patients by greeting them in person and by the phone.
    1. “Thank you for calling Caremax Pharmacy my name is ____. How may I help you?”
    2. Calls answered in appropriate language (i.e., English, Spanish, Creole).
  • Be proficient in pharmacy software system (RXQ) and delivery tracking system (DeliverSTAT).
  • Patient profile management:
    1. Verify DOB, address, phone number, language preference, allergies, and whether or not they would like EZ caps.
    2. Autofill is on
    3. Medication management (i.e., discontinue, refill requests, etc.)
    4. AR creation and management
  • Provide outstanding customer service and go above and beyond to ensure that customers are happy with our services.
  • Type, refill, and dispense prescription orders.
  • Assists Pharmacists by:
    1. Helping to prepare and dispense medications.
    2. Communicating with patients, doctor’s offices, insurances, etc.
    3. Helping resolve drug not covered, prior authorization, and high copay issues
    4. Helping find coupons and foundations for high copay medications
    5. Escalating calls to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Document and manage patient and script notes concerning communications with patients, prescribers, insurances, and delivery drivers.
  • Call new patients to verify all demographic information is correct, including delivery preference. Follow up if necessary
  • Reach out to patients regarding RTS status, PAs and DNCs, and high copays.
  • Offer Hardship programs to patients who may qualify and are in need.
  • Review faxes and move prescriptions into the Fill Queue.
  • Must determine whether new prescriptions are standard delivery or STAT delivery
  • If a prescription is not covered send a CoverMyMed Key Code to prescribers and document notes on profile
  • Identify, create, and properly assign AR accounts for patients when applicable.
  • Task providers a prescription needs clarification. If urgent call provider.
  • Must type an average of 250 prescriptions per day and clear queue daily.
  • Other technician-delegated tasks that must be performed under the supervision of a pharmacist.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Active/Good Standing Florida Registered Pharmacy Technician License
  • Basic computer skills (Office, Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams)
  • Math skills relating to pharmacy duties
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively while speaking and in writing (Bilingual preferred)

Physical Requirements

  1. Employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and sit; as well as, talk and hear.
  2. Employee is required to be able to use office and pharmacy equipment.
  3. Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds
