JOB SUMMARY
Position Title: Domestic Violence Resident Assistant
Program: Domestic Violence Services (DVS)
Classification: Non-Exempt/Full Time
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBITIES
- Front Office: Screen/greet visitors and answer the telephone in a warm and professional manner in accordance with DVS policies and procedures. Help manage cleanliness and organization of the Safe House office area.
- Hotline: Answer crisis hotline and text line calls. Provide support, safety planning, options, and referrals for services to DV survivors. Complete hotline forms/intakes and program exists. Perform conflict checks.
- Communication/Compliance: Communicate essential information to other team members in appropriate logs. Accurately record client information and services, and all other required data in client database per funder and DVS requirements.
- Client Service: Assist residents with requests for personal items, transportation, food, and any other emergent/basic needs. Provide consistent and trauma-informed emotional support.
- Teamwork: Be an enthusiastic member of the Safe House team. Provide the required holiday and on-call Safe House coverage per DVS policies.
*Perform other job-related duties as requested by supervisor.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- H. S. Diploma or the equivalent required.
- Associate’s degree in the social sciences preferred.
- 2 years of customer/client services experience preferred.
- Bilingual skills, English and Spanish, are strongly preferred.
- General proficiency in Microsoft Office programs and web-based applications.
- Strong written and verbal communications skills.
- Ability to remain calm in busy and stressful situations.
- Desire to participate in a supportive, empowering culture that celebrates diversity.
