Accreditation and Licensing Specialist – Academic Affairs

The Accreditation and Licensing Specialist facilitates the institution licensing process and accreditation activity in compliance with state rules and regulations, and institutional policies and procedures.

Role and Responsibilities:

  1. Licensing Coordination:
    • Coordinate the licensing renewal process with the Florida Commission of Independent Education.
    • Facilitate communication between Albizu University and the Florida Commission For Independent Education.
    • Monitor changes in accreditation/licensing standards and communicate updates to the Institution stakeholders.
  2. Licensing Oversight:
    • Coordinate and review the license application, data collection and reports with the Florida Commission of Independent Education.
    • Maintain accurate records and databases related to licensing activities.
    • Collaborate with the legal advisors to interpret and apply licensing requirements.
  3. Licensing Compliance Monitoring:
    • Conduct periodic reviews at the campus to verify ongoing compliance with the state regulations.
    • Ensure compliance with licensing requirements.
    • Coordinate training to the campus stakeholders on matters related to licensing requirements.
  4. Policy Implementation
    • Ensure the implementation of institutional policies and procedures related to accreditation and licensing.


Qualifications, Education Requirements, and Preferred Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, public administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in accreditation, licensing, regulatory affairs, or a similar role in the education field.
  • Knowledge of educational licensing and/or accreditation requirements.
  • Project management experience.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret regulations and policies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented and capable of managing multiple priorities effectively.
