Job DescriptionJob DescriptionSMS Staffing Inc is Hiring Immediately for a skilled Production Artwork Technician Job Title: Production Artwork TechnicianJob Location: Plano, TX, U.S.A. 75024Job Type: Contract (possible extension or convert to hire)Pay: Starts at $23.00 an hourShift Structure: ONSITE, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday, 40 hours per weekThe role of the Production Artwork Technician:
  • Create, update, issue, and distribute product artwork using software such as QuarkXpress, CS5 (Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, etc.).
  • Support routing and approval processes as required.
  • Attend product launch meetings as necessary.
  • Ensure adherence to artwork schedules and communicate priorities effectively.
  • Assess proposed artwork packages and take appropriate actions to meet standards, including proofing and pre-flight checks.
  • Communicate with production sites to ensure electronic artwork meets graphic standards and release requirements.
  • Participate in project team development meetings and liaise with third-party design artwork suppliers.
  • Manage computer-generated labeling formats and ensure production validation activities are completed before authorization for production use.
  • Monitor actions and escalate issues regarding artwork releases to meet project deadlines.
About the Production Artwork Technician:The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:
  • Minimum of 2 years of production graphics experience in a quality or operational function, preferably in a medical device or similarly regulated environment.
  • Attention to detail with the ability to recognize errors in spelling, punctuation, and grammar.
  • Ability to work independently as well as within a team.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing demands.
  • Customer-focused with the ability to influence internal and external groups.
  • Experience with graphics programs, word processing, database/spreadsheet programs, and barcode applications on both Macintosh and PC platforms.
  • Prior labeling development and proofreading experience is advantageous.
