As Ninety continues to experience exceptional growth, we are looking to bring on a Principal Engineer for Machine Learning who will lead the development of our products and who will report to an Engineering Lead.

As a Principal Engineer, you will be a strategic technical leader responsible for shaping the architecture and long-term vision of our machine learning discipline. You will drive critical projects, influence engineering culture, and ensure the delivery of robust and scalable software solutions on a daily basis.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Define and drive the technical strategy and architecture for our machine learning discipline.
  • Lead the design and development of state-of-the-art generative AI models.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to align technical initiatives with business goals.
  • Mentor and coach engineering teams to foster a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Implement and manage end-to-end machine learning pipelines, including data preprocessing, model training, validation, and deployment.
  • Develop and maintain scalable infrastructure for model training and inference.
  • Research and experiment with new algorithms and techniques to improve model performance and capabilities.
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends to inform strategic decisions.

What Success Looks Like:

  • Deliver market-aligned outcomes.
  • Development of a line of AI driven features within the 90 product.
  • Build testable, observable, and independently deployable code.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in machine learning, with a focus on generative AI.
  • Deep expertise in designing and building scalable, distributed systems.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to influence and drive technical direction.
  • Strong proficiency in multiple programming languages and cloud platforms.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and strategic thinking. 
  • Proven track record of designing and deploying high-performing machine learning models.
  • Expertise in MLOps, including experience with tools and frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, Kubernetes, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Strong programming skills in Python and familiarity with relevant libraries (e.g., NumPy, SciPy, Scikit-learn).
