Job Description: Project Engineer (Highway & Bridge Construction)

Pay Range Commensurate with Industry Experience

Schedule Typically Monday through Friday and additional days as needed

  • Lubbock, Texas, and surrounding areas.

Objective The Project Engineer provides support to the Project Manager and the Project Superintendent. The support goals of include Goal Setting, Planning, Communicating, Organizing, Implementing, and Tracking.


Regular Job Duties

  1. Acquire, organize, review and distribute project submittals
  2. Maintain Plan Drawings and Revisions
  3. Create and maintain all required Project Logs
  4. Perform Material Take-Offs
  5. Communicate with the owner and client representatives
  6. Calculate pricing and issue contracts and purchase orders for subcontractors and suppliers
  7. Schedule subcontractor work and supplier material deliveries
  8. Maintain a highly organized work area and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  9. Write reports, business correspondence, and project documents
  10. Present information effectively in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and employees of the organization
  11. Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  12. Other unlisted duties will be assigned

Qualifications

  1. Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or similar degree.
  2. Consideration will be given to those with three or more years of related experience as outlined in this job summary
  3. Moderate to high level of proficiency operating Primavera 3 and 6
  4. Moderate to high level of proficiency operating MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS Word, and MS PowerPoint
  5. Be able to communicate in English via verbal and written communications
  6. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry and utilize Construction Math concepts
  7. Valid driver license for occasional, required travel
  8. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  9. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with abstract and concrete variables
  10. Moderate physical activity performing somewhat strenuous daily activities of a primarily administrative nature. Some exposure to outdoors with changing weather conditions such as rain, sun, snow, and wind
  11. Ability to physically maneuver by foot minor obstacles at construction projects
  12. Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items and work with the fingers
