The GIS Analyst will be responsible for discovering marketing and location patterns and trends through spatial mapping software for the needs of a multi-state law firm.  As a GIS Analyst you will have the ability to inspect, cleanse, transform and model data from various sources with the goal of discovering useful information/trends, informing conclusions, and supporting decision-making.  You must have the ability to understand the "big picture" and the interrelationships among various parts of the organization. Responsibilities

  • Designs, implements, manages map-based solutions, many of which may be interactive solutions already built using technologies like Maptitude.
  • Works with management to evaluate areas where the application of GIS, using Maptitude or similar application, can be used to facilitate improvements.
  • Makes recommendations for improvements to methodologies and procedures supporting the enterprise GIS.
  • Configures and maintains map-centric applications and services.
  • Provide data driven business insights and recommendations (including development of interactive dashboards and leadership reporting).
  • Developing descriptive analytical models to provide business insights and recommendations.
  • Creates and updates GIS application, Maptitude, web services and module add-ons.
  • Supports the data science and related data analytics needs of the company, particularly those associated with data for the geographic component.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • 3+ years of analytics work related experience.
  • Previous experience using a Geographic Information System (GIS) specializing in location identification for national retailers, franchises, or local events is preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software. 
  • Ability to collect and compile relevant data.
  • Extremely organized with great attention to detail.
  • Excellent ability to analyze information and think systematically.
  • Strong business analysis skills.
  • Works well independently and as part of a team.
  • Thorough understanding of the company’s business processes and the industry at large.
