Located in our Newport Beach, California office, the Senior Analyst will play an integral role by supporting the acquisitions and disposition team in all aspects of the investment transaction process including financial analysis, due diligence, asset management and internal approvals. This role will place a strong emphasis on dispositions to start.

This position is 100% in-office due to the collaborative nature of this role with various stakeholders.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Financial Analysis: Perform financial analysis and underwriting for potential acquisition opportunities by utilizing Excel and Argus Enterprise. Prepare cash flow models that assist in the valuation process.
  • Transaction Execution: Assist with preparation of investment committee memoranda for recommended dispositions. Assist in broker selection and preparation of marketing materials. Work with the closing team to complete the execution of the transaction.
  • Due Diligence: Prepare and review due diligence including building data rooms, abstracting leases, coordinate site visits of investors, buyers, consultants and their agents, creating estoppels, reviewing Argus models, etc.
  • Recapitalizations: Work with joint venture partners to recapitalize assets including the creation of buy-side models, market analysis, pitch books, etc.
  • Asset Management: Work with BKM’s asset management team to prepare assets for disposition. Conduct regular meetings to ensure key value-drivers are met for all assets 9 months prior to disposition.
  • Pipeline Management: Track dispositions by ensuring that BKM’s proprietary software called BKMIntel is updated with deals currently in pipeline. Organizing files and updating checklists to keep deals on track.
  • Acquisitions: Work with BKM’s acquisition team to assist in underwriting as needed.
  • Ad-Hoc Tasks: Serve as a resource for other BKM departments. Help answer questions relating to prior acquisitions and assets in the disposition pipeline including analyzing accounting and financial data including pulling reports from the accounting system. Work with other departments such as Marketing, Portfolio Management and Operations as a representative of the Acquisitions and Dispositions Team.
  • Investor Relations Resource: Send weekly pipelines to Investor Relations. Perform ad hoc investor request and due diligence questionnaires. Involved in co-investor solicitation and due diligence. Assist in the preparation of quarterly investor reporting.

The Qualifiers:

  • Bachelor’s degree in real estate, finance, economics, or other business discipline.
  • 2+ years in analytical role within the commercial real estate field. Experience in the industrial sector a plus.
  • Asset management experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong Excel & Argus Enterprise capabilities (building and proofing financial models)
  • Strong knowledge of Yardi.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills with keen attention to detail
