Controller - Inventory

The Financial Controller is a key leadership position responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the company's financial reporting and internal controls. This role oversees a range of accounting functions and manages the data entry team to ensure optimal efficiency and timely reporting.

Experience in an inventory based business is a must. The right candidate should be able to take initiative and implement processes.

Advanced Excel skills a plus.


Key Responsibilities

  • Experience:

    • Minimum of 3 years experience as a Financial Controller

    • Experience in a supervisory or managerial role


  • Financial Accounting & Reporting:

    • Managing and promptly responding to accounting and bookkeeping emails.

    • Ensuring accurate data entry of purchases, sales, and transactions into QuickBooks.

    • Timely payment of invoices, including setting up reminder emails when necessary.

    • Ensuring bills are paid on time and obtaining approvals as required.

    • Daily reconciliation of bank, credit card, and loan accounts in QuickBooks.

    • Monthly reconciliation of all accounts.

    • Overseeing assembly processes for assembly products.

    • Conducting monthly inventory counts and reconciling them with QuickBooks records.

    • Reviewing and correcting old entries and initiating corrective projects when necessary.

    • Collaborating with the accounting firm to provide necessary information for timely filings.

    • Running weekly payroll.

    • Timely preparation and review of accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for management

    • Review and approve journal entries and account reconciliations

    • Collaborate with internal and external auditors, facilitating smooth review processes

  • Data Entry Team Management:

    • Recruit, supervise, and mentor data entry staff to ensure high-quality data input and adherence to deadlines

    • Develop and monitor performance metrics for the data entry team, providing regular feedback and professional development opportunities

  • Technical Skills:

    • In-depth understanding of accounting standards.

    • Advanced proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets, including complex formulas and data analysis tools.

  • Other Skills

    • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities

    • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of handling multiple priorities

    • Proactive and collaborative approach to teamwork and leadership
