Magic of Paws in North Yarmouth, ME, is seeking a caring and enthusiastic Pet Bather to join our team of 10 animal care professionals. Located at 14 Snow Hook Trail, our salon provides a safe and comfortable environment for pets to receive exceptional grooming services. We seek a responsible, reliable, and detail-oriented individual to ensure our furry friends leave our salon feeling fresh and clean.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare pets for grooming by brushing out mats and tangles and ensuring their coats are free of debris
  • Bathe pets using appropriate shampoos and conditioners, taking care to avoid getting water in their eyes and ears
  • Thoroughly dry pets using towels and high-velocity dryers, ensuring their coats are completely dry
  • Clean and disinfect bathing areas and equipment after each use, maintaining a sanitary work environment
  • Assist groomers with handling and restraining pets during the grooming process
  • Provide excellent customer service, greeting pet owners and addressing their concerns
  • Offer guidance and recommendations on pet care and bathing practices

Qualifications:

  • Experience handling and caring for animals, preferably in a professional setting
  • Knowledge of different dog and cat breeds, their coat types, and specific bathing requirements
  • Ability to handle animals of various sizes and temperaments with patience and care
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both with pets and their owners
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to providing high-quality care
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Familiarity with Fear Free techniques is a plus
