JOB SUMMARY
As the Logistics Supervisor, you’ll be responsible for the transportation of switchgear products and for the daily administration and operations of the shipping/receiving department. You’ll work with various internal and external stakeholders from our schedulers, Project Managers, and other supervisors to external vendors and clients.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Keeps appropriate departments up to date on current shipping costs and logistics for finished switchgear products.
• Arranges for transportation of and delivery of product in the most cost effective and efficient manner possible.
• Verifies through visual inspection that all product meets company standards of quality and craftsmanship before shipping.
• Supervises the annual physical inventory.
• Ensures outbound export shipments are properly classified and in compliance with applicable U.S. export law, ICC terms of trade, and contract requirements.
• Maintains current knowledge of transportation industry as applies to domestic and international shipments.
• Initiates and follows to conclusion all claims against carriers for loss, damage, or overcharge.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

• HS diploma or GED, required OR equivalent experience in logistics, supply chain management, dispatching, etc.
• Two-year Associates degree, preferred.
• Class A CDL, preferred.
• Crane experience, preferred.
• At least 5 to 7 years of relevant experience in logistics, preferred.
• ERP software experience, preferred (such as Oracle, SAP, JD Edwards, etc.).
• MS Office experience, required (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.).
• Experience creating a BOL (Bill of Lading), required.
