Mays is seeking a Packaging Technician to work in the Greenwood facility. The selected candidate will report to the Production Manager. The selected candidate will be responsible for the following essential duties:
- Perform janitorial and maintenance tasks as required by supervisor, including minor daily or weekly housekeeping.
- Practices the principals of food safety, quality, and continuous improvement under the GFSI guidelines and follows established cGMP practices.
- Executes pre- and post-production sampling plans as required by established procedures.
- Performs repackaging/blending operations.
- Ensures that equipment is set-up and properly running in order to execute production plans.
- Inspects containers prior to packaging to ensure they meet established specifications, cleanliness, and condition.
- Performs the necessary line clearances as required by procedures.
- Accurately completes batch record files. Follows document control procedures.
- Displays careful handling in the repackaging of products and containers.
- Performs cleaning and sanitation processes of production equipment and rooms.
- Reviews and completes inbound receiving transactions.
- Performs quality assurance checks of processed orders prior to shipment.
- Participates in periodic cycle counts.
- Works independently and demonstrates initiative and hard work.
- Successfully interacts, communicates, and works with supervisors and personnel.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- One to three months related experience and/or training.
- Previous experience working in warehouse environment.
- Previous experience handling chemical/hazardous materials and operating powered industrial. equipment (forklift, scissor lift, etc.) preferred.
