Role Summary: The Packaging Operator is responsible for managing the operation of packaging machinery involved in the production of beverage items. This role entails the operation of various packaging machines and conveyors, along with executing cleaning and sanitation tasks to comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
Language Requirements: Proficiency in English is mandatory; knowledge of Spanish is advantageous.
Supervisory Duties: This position does not involve supervisory responsibilities.
Travel Requirements: No travel is required for this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain a safe working environment.
- Prepare case machinery and associated equipment for operational readiness.
- Conduct daily operations of case machinery, including startup, adjustments, changeovers, and cleaning of various equipment.
- Operate a forklift; certification is necessary.
- Disassemble packages for quality assurance checks.
- Monitor production lines, performing visual inspections for issues such as jams or adhesive application problems.
- Execute machinery part changeovers between different product runs.
- Maintain cleanliness of conveyors and machinery, including lubrication as needed.
- Verify work orders and check adhesive types and temperatures.
- Conduct visual checks for proper label application and case coding.
- Utilize touch screen computers for machinery operation.
- Operate floor cleaning equipment.
- Ensure a tidy work environment.
- Report any material or packaging quality concerns to the Supervisor.
- Notify Supervisor or Maintenance regarding equipment malfunctions.
- Foster a positive work atmosphere through effective interaction with colleagues and management.
- Perform other assigned duties as required.
- Work scheduled shifts, including weekends and extended hours as necessary.
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
- Successfully complete all fundamental tasks associated with this role.
