Status: Exempt
Summary: As an employee of the Bank, supports company mission, vision and culture. Presents a full range of bank products and services to customers by identifying, expanding, and deepening customer relationships by opening deposit and consumer loan relationships as well as referring opportunities on to mortgage, commercial and investments. Initiates new business development opportunities and works directly with existing customers to expand and strengthen banking relationships. The Relationship Banker demonstrates a genuine interest in prospective efforts and has a proactive outbound approach to acquire new banking relationships.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Call on existing and potential customers to develop and/or retain business by recommending appropriate products and services.
- Setting appointments to meet with new prospects so that appropriate products and services options are presented and explained.
- 3. Make appropriate cross sales and referrals to customers and potential customers to all departments of the bank.
- Regular outbound activities include making calls, visiting local businesses, and participating in networking activities (e.g., involvement in community organizations through committees or board assignments to expand their network of contacts and centers of influence (COI)).
- Attend and actively participate in the local Chambers of Commerce and or other organizations to increase the visibility of the Bank.
- Learn, promote, and provide new products and services as developed by the bank.
- Stay current on all policy, procedure and regulatory matters through trainings which impact the duties and responsibilities of the position.
- Follow up on all new account and loan relationships as needed.
- Performs other duties as needed or assigned.
Requirements:
• Must maintain highly professional relationships with both internal and external customers.
• Has access to highly confidential customer financial and general Bank information.
• Responsible for making recommendations to supervisor concerning possible methods to improve department. Must stay current through education on banking regulations and internal procedures.
• Must be able to work evenings and weekends as needed and will travel to each Branch office and corporate on a regular basis.
Minimum Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and five years of banking equivalent required.
• Bank related courses strongly recommended. Background in customer service and sales in a financial services capacity.
• Computer knowledge required.
• Ability to work with all levels within the organization.
• Must have strong people skills, be detail orientated, problem solver, organized and able to handle multiple tasks.
• Able to handle confidential information and positively represent the company.
• Credit, life and disability insurance license a plus.
