OVERVIEW
Bridge Boston Charter School is a tuition-free, K1-8 public school serving 335 students in Roxbury, Massachusetts, and the surrounding community– many of whom have experienced social, emotional, and developmental barriers to learning. Bridge Boston’s robust social-emotional program is designed with an eye to supporting students who have experienced trauma in their homes and communities.

THE POSITION
Reporting to the Director of Operations. The staff member will serve as an advisor for a group of students and fulfill all regular duties and commitments required of Bridge Boston staff.
Specifically, they will be responsible for:
- General administrative support: assist as needed at reception from receiving visitors to student arrival and dismissal procedures; includes phone, fax, mail, and online inquiries.
- Scheduling and communicating with staff about planned drills (fire, evacuation) with updated binders
- Building preparation of fire, evacuation plan
- Printer and copier maintenance
- Student support: assist with facilitating activities arrival and dismissal duties
- Printing and collating report cards, progress reports for conferences or mailing
- Data entry: periodic entry of required enrollment forms from families, organize and maintain hard copies into appropriate files; assist with student lottery and enrollment processes.
- Purchasing - supplies and facilities: assist with ordering and maintaining general supplies, proactive monitoring of inventory and keeping to budget; maintain organized communal storage *staff room, work spaces, and facilities
- Take weekly inventory and order office supplies as needed
- Transportation: maintain up to date bus route and roster information in clear and organized systems, electronic and hard copy; maintain accurate daily change list and enforce safety rules and procedures. Completing and distributing dismissal plans daily.
- Events and special activities: Support planning and implementation (Q2Q) of all-school events including concerts, parent-teacher conferences, family-admin dinners, orientations, staff events, and field day, etc

QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Effective communication skills with different audiences, from students to parents/guardians and staff ∙ Adaptive, flexible, and resourceful problem solver
- Value of diversity and demonstration of cultural competence and sensitivity

- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Customer-service orientation

- Bilingual Spanish, Haitian-Creole or Cape Verdean Creole highly desirable
