Job Summary

The Front Office Manager is responsible for the daily quality and accuracy of the work produced by the Front Office Staff. This role ensures that the hotel’s highest standards of operation is met, by managing and monitoring activities that affect the guest experience. Provides oversight of guest arrivals and departures while achieving a high level of customer service and efficiency.

Essential Functions
  • Ensure that consistent and superior customer service is provided when staff is greeting and registering guests and that the procedures for guest check in and check out are maintained.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and compliance with all departmental policies/service procedures/standards.
  • Supervises daily Front Desk shift operations and ensures compliance with all policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Ensure and model positive guest relations by anticipating guests’ needs, providing prompt acknowledgement, response, and resolution of guest complaints always, ensuring guest satisfaction.
  • Monitor and ensure the maintenance of cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned work areas.
  • Ensure demonstrated knowledge and communicate staff awareness of:
    • hotel features/services, hours of operation.
    • room types, numbers, layout, decor, appointments, and location.
    • room rates, special packages, and promotions.
    • daily house count and expected arrivals/departures.
    • room availability status for any given day.
    • scheduled in-house group activities, locations, and times.
  • Conduct pre-shift meeting with staff and review all information pertinent to the day's business.
  • Establish par levels for supplies and equipment and complete requisitions to replenish shortages or additional items needed for the anticipated business and volume.
  • Manage guest room allocations ensuring that reservations are accurately recorded and monitored to allow for optimum occupancy and revenue.
  • Supervise and monitor staff performance in all phases of service and job functions providing counseling as appropriate to address deficiencies with respective personnel to include Front Desk staff, Bell/Door staff, PBX staff and Concierge Staff
  • Monitor communication logs and ensure that guest requests are followed up within specified minutes determined by property guidelines.
Qualifications

Education: High school diploma or equivalent vocational training certificate required. Some college or college degree preferred. Degree in hospitality management preferred.
Experience Two years Assistant Front Office Manager experience in a luxury hotel or Two years Front Desk experience at luxury hotel and Two years of supervisory experience
Computer Skill & Other Technical Skills Ability to utilize computer software and hardware required. Ability to easily maneuver on computer keyboard required.
