JOB SUMMARY

The Director of Independent Living Services is a senior-level leadership position that is responsible for overseeing the general operations, daily programming, and ongoing supervision of the Vita Nova Independent Living Services (VNILS) team to help older foster youth receive the life skills, education, and support necessary to become self-sufficient with lifelong connections to supportive adults. Essential duties include but are not limited to managing and tracking performance of assigned team members, developing and implementing processes and procedures to achieve established program outcomes, and ensuring compliance with all program protocols and relevant local, state, and federal regulations.

This role works onsite, primarily at the Spot, with the ability to travel to and from other VNI campus and client locations frequently. The VNILS Director must be available weekdays 9am-5pm with some evening and weekend work required to meet the needs of the agency and VNILS clientele.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure achievement of contract outcomes and future sustainability of the VNILS program
  • Review and verify client files for accuracy, timeliness, and thoroughness of documentation in Florida Safe Families Network (FSFN) and any internal reporting systems
  • Prepare and submit reports on contract-driven program outcomes
  • Apply a data-driven approach in reviewing and analyzing reports for accurate and meaningful distribution of information to internal and external stakeholders
  • Innovate with team to design, coordinate, and deliver life skills training/workshops, college tours, and other dynamic services to help clients develop self-sufficiency tools
  • Design, document, and implement effective protocols for all VNILS services
  • Establish procedures to contact and re-engage clients post-termination from PESS/Aftercare
  • Support VNILS team in prioritizing supportive client/Life Coach relationships with clear professional boundaries through proactive engagement and increased face-to-face contact
  • Provide ongoing supervision to ensure safety, productivity, and quality service delivery
  • Identify and support professional development opportunities to expand skills and competencies
  • Facilitate client engagement and incorporate youth voice and choice in all levels of operations, including youth board activities
  • Incorporate Trauma Informed Care, Positive Youth Development, and racial equity practices in daily programming and project development
  • Conduct necessary activities for continuous quality improvement measures
  • Attend community collaborations, state and local initiatives, and networking meetings to promote VNILS services and expand resources for youth
  • Assist in the development of financial projections and forecasts

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master's degree in a human service-related field
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience working with youth in the dependency system
  • Experience in program management and supervision, preferably in a human services/child welfare/housing non-profit organization is preferred
  • Working knowledge of FSFN data standards preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment with willingness to have difficult conversations
  • Sound judgment, critical thinking, and decision-making skills
  • Valid FL driver's license, reliable transportation, and ability to be join company insurance policy
  • Ability to pass a Level 2 Background check and drug screen
