POSITION SUMMARY

The Sales Manager at Lamar Trailers is a key leadership role responsible for directing and enhancing the activities of the sales team to drive company revenue and growth. This position entails strategic planning, team management, client relationship building, and continuous learning and development initiatives. Reporting directly to the Chief Commerce Officer, the ideal candidate will be a proven leader, skilled in navigating market challenges and fostering a team-oriented environment.

This role is crucial for ensuring that Lamar Trailers not only meets its sales targets but also grows its market presence through strategic planning and effective team management. The Sales Manager will play a pivotal role in the success of the organization.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead and Manage the Sales Team

  • Provide ongoing guidance and support to the sales team, ensuring access to the necessary tools and resources to meet or exceed sales targets and invoiced revenue goals.
  • Cultivate a collaborative and inclusive team environment that promotes sharing of best practices and strategies.
  • Implement structured performance evaluations regularly, offering constructive feedback and developing personalized plans to enhance team capabilities.

Build and Maintain Client Relationships

  • Develop and execute a client engagement strategy that focuses on building and sustaining long-term partnerships.
  • Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction through regular interactions and prompt resolution of any issues.
  • Establish a customer feedback loop to collect and analyze client insights, adapting strategies to improve customer retention rates.

Develop and Implement Strategic Sales Plans

  • Design and oversee the execution of comprehensive sales strategies that align with company objectives for revenue growth, market expansion, and invoiced revenue.
  • Conduct thorough market analysis to identify new opportunities and integrate findings into strategic plans.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of sales strategies and make data-driven adjustments as needed.

Enhance Sales Team Skills and Knowledge

  • Develop and implement an ongoing training program that encompasses product knowledge, advanced sales techniques, and exceptional customer service skills.
  • Promote the use of CRM software and other technological tools, ensuring the team is proficient and maximizes their potential.
  • Keep up-to-date with industry trends and innovations, sharing relevant information with the team to maintain a competitive edge.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Proven experience as a Sales Manager or similar leadership role in sales, ideally in the trailer manufacturing or automotive industries.
  • Strong leadership skills with a track record of successful sales team management.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in using CRM software and data analysis tools.
