SCOPE:

As a Third-Party Attorney, your role is vital in safeguarding UAIC's insured individuals in legal actions concerning Bodily Injury and Property Damage. This position demands proficiency in insurance law, adept negotiation skills, and the capacity to offer strategic legal counsel to ensure the protection of the company's interests. This position embraces a modern hybrid work model, empowering employees to seamlessly blend remote work with in-person collaboration, fostering a flexible and dynamic work environment that encourages innovation and work-life balance in the South Florida area.

DUTIES:
 
  • Provide expert legal advice on third-party matters, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Offer strategic guidance to internal teams on legal implications related to third-party relationships.
  • Conduct thorough risk assessments related to third-party engagements.
  • Develop and implement strategies to mitigate legal risks associated with third-party relationships.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with relevant legal requirements and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to implement compliance measures in third-party interactions.
  • Manage and resolve legal disputes arising from third-party relationships.
  • Work towards amicable resolutions and represent the company's interests in legal proceedings when necessary.
  • Provide training to internal teams on legal aspects of third-party relationships.
  • Foster a culture of legal awareness and compliance throughout the organization.
  • Maintain accurate records of all legal activities related to third-party matters.
  • Prepare and submit regular reports on legal issues, compliance status, and risk assessments.

EDUCATION:
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership and in clear standing with the Florida Bar.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
  • Minimum 3 years of demonstrated experience handling third-party legal matters, specifically litigation defense in Property Damage or Bodily Injury.
  • Strong knowledge of property and casualty insurance laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Strong negotiation and dispute resolution skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently in a fast-paced environment.
