Custom Cabinetry Project Manager
The Custom Cabinetry Project Manager has the overall responsibility for project success and for developing and maintaining client relationships. This role is crucial in overseeing home renovation projects from start to finish, ensuring quality and customer satisfaction.
Expectations:
- Project Oversight: Must be able to handle multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring all phases are completed on time and within budget.
- Site Coordination: Participate in pre-site as well as lead post-site walkthroughs and meetings. It is expected that the employee will be on-site as needed to manage the project, ensuring that timelines are met with limited interruptions.
- Change Order Management: Review, approve, and sign off on all job change orders, ensuring accurate integration into the project plan.
- Finalization: Complete the final project walkthrough and submit a project closeout report at the conclusion of the project.
- Client Interaction: Meet with the client to complete post-project debrief and ensure satisfaction.
Additional Skills Necessary:
- Budget Management: Expertise in managing project budgets, including cost estimation, tracking expenses, and negotiating with subcontractors to keep projects within financial constraints.
- Vendor and Subcontractor Coordination: Experience in sourcing, negotiating, and managing relationships with vendors and subcontractors, ensuring that all parties deliver high-quality work on time.
- Permitting and Compliance: Knowledge of local building codes and the permitting process, ensuring that all projects comply with legal requirements and industry standards.
- Risk Management: Ability to anticipate potential issues or delays in home renovation projects and implement strategies to mitigate risks, ensuring smooth project execution.
- Material Procurement: Proficiency in selecting and procuring materials that meet both aesthetic and functional requirements, while managing lead times and availability.
- Quality Control: Ensuring that all work meets the highest standards of craftsmanship and quality, with an eye for detail in both the structural and aesthetic aspects of home renovations.
- Client Communication: Strong skills in managing client expectations, keeping them informed throughout the project, and addressing concerns promptly and effectively.
Qualifications:
- Experience: BA/BS in a related field or 10+ years of previous relevant construction management experience, with a focus on home renovation or custom cabinetry.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, EMR (preferred by not required), SmartSheets, Familiarity with construction management software is a plus.
- Blueprint Literacy: Ability to read and interpret blueprints/drawings, ensuring accuracy in project execution.
- Knowledge of Local Regulations: Familiarity with local building codes, zoning laws, and permitting processes
- Customer Service: Excellent customer service skills, with a focus on building and maintaining strong client relationships. Ability to resolve conflicts in a positive manner.
- Self-Motivation and Professionalism: Must be self-motivated and committed to the highest level of professional development.
- Time Management: Ability to manage multiple projects with strong time management skills.
