We commonly hear that people love seeing our deals and reading educational content through our tasting notes, newsletters and targeted email marketing campaigns. We are seeking a Marketing Director to drive the brand's marketing strategy across all channels. 


This is a hybrid role for the LA (Culver City) area


Position Overview:
As the Marketing Director at K&L Wine Merchants, you will be the visionary driving the brand's marketing strategy across all channels. In this influential role, you will craft and execute dynamic marketing initiatives that elevate our brand, engage our customers, and propel our growth. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, leveraging your deep understanding of the retail and auction landscapes—especially within the fine wines and spirits sector—to position K&L as a leader in the industry.


PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Strategic Store Marketing:
    Lead and refine marketing strategies to showcase our expert staff and their unparalleled knowledge in fine wines and spirits. Elevate in-store events and tastings, ensuring they captivate and resonate with our target audience.
  • Event Innovation:
    Partner with the Events Director to create and deliver memorable events that draw in customers and drive sales, making every event a must-attend.
  • Digital Growth & Optimization:
    Analyze and optimize key website metrics to enhance user engagement and increase conversions. Collaborate with the software product team to streamline the online experience, attract new customers, and spotlight successful initiatives.
  • Key Account Marketing:
    Develop and execute targeted strategies to engage Key Account customers through personalized interactions. Innovate new channels to strengthen these valuable relationships.
  • Customer Experience Enhancement:
    Spearhead initiatives to elevate the online customer journey, including exploring real-time chat support and personalized interactions with our expert staff.
  • Email Marketing Leadership:
    Design and oversee a robust email marketing strategy that aligns with our broader goals. Drive the creation of compelling content, refine targeting, and continuously optimize performance.
  • Localized Marketing Impact:
    Amplify awareness and foot traffic for the Culver City location, while driving engagement and visibility across all K&L stores.
  • Public Relations Excellence:
    Elevate K&L’s media presence by leading strategic PR efforts, ensuring consistent, positive coverage that reinforces our brand's authority.
  • Content Strategy & Management:
    Guide the content creation process, ensuring high-quality, strategically aligned output across blogs, emails, and product descriptions.
  • Brand Development & Stewardship:
    Shape and refine K&L’s brand identity, ensuring consistency in voice, tone, and visual presentation across all channels. Drive the overall communications and marketing strategy to amplify the impact of our brand.


REQUIREMENTS:


  • 8+ years experience + Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field.
  • Proven leadership experience in a senior marketing role, preferably within retail or the wine and spirits industry.
  • Deep expertise in digital marketing, customer acquisition, and content strategy.
  • Strong cross-functional team management and collaboration skills.
  • Exceptional analytical abilities with a proven track record of driving metric improvements.
  • Creative and strategic thinker with a passion for solving complex marketing challenges.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with a knack for inspiring teams.
