JOB PURPOSE:

The Facilities Specialist is responsible for the maintenance and development of the facilities and grounds under the direction of the Safety & Facilities Manager. This individual is also responsible to assist with monitoring proper safety guidelines and procedures.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each of these essential functions at a satisfactorily level. Other essential and non-essential functions may be assigned.   • Coordinates and monitors work with contractors.
  • Performs scheduled maintenance on equipment within the building such as elevators, fire extinguishers, garbage disposals and drain traps.
  • Executes repairs and cosmetic updates within the maintenance team’s skills and abilities, e.g., electrical, plumbing, painting, etc.
  • Complete monthly Building Safety Inspections and send reports to Safety & Facilities Manager
  • Sets up Conference Rooms and Commons for meetings, luncheons, and training sessions.
  • Leads in all construction upgrades, renovations or build outs, reporting updates to Safety & Facilities Manager.
  • Inspects the building and grounds for needed maintenance and repairs and reports findings to the Safety & Facilities Manager.
  • Maintains key control for offices, file cabinets and equipment.
  • Receives daily packages from various carriers and ensures packages are dispersed to individuals or stocked as supplies.
  • Keeps Kitchen area stocked with supplies and submit purchase requisitions for orders.
  • Performs janitorial duties as needed.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by Management.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Education: High School degree or equivalent
  • Experience: 1-2 years construction and/or building maintenance experience required.
  • Computer Skills: General knowledge and use Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office Suite.

Physical Requirements:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Working Conditions:

While performing the duties of this Job, the individual is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate. The individual frequently works in a controlled climate. The individual is occasionally required to travel to other office locations.
