The Packaging Engineer II is a critical role at Planet Pharma, responsible for creating and innovating packaging solutions for new products and processes. This position requires a strong technical background in packaging engineering, with a focus on leading implementation in multiple manufacturing facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead cost reduction initiatives in packaging, identifying opportunities exceeding $100K.
  • Provide technical support and training to manufacturing teams on packaging systems and machinery.
  • Develop and implement packaging validation protocols and reports.
  • Conduct packaging validation testing to support changes.
  • Lead material qualifications for packaging changes, including resin material changes.
  • Create and update packaging specifications for manufacturing.
  • Assist in artwork creation and revisions for product packaging.
  • Operate testing apparatus to qualify packaging changes.
  • Create sterilization and non-sterile pallet patterns for manufacturing locations.
  • Ensure timely delivery of projects to Project Engineering and R&D schedules.
  • Prepare monthly progress reports on projects.
  • Provide work direction to lab technicians as required.
  • Assist in mentoring junior engineers.

Departmental Responsibilities:

  • Conduct review meetings with multiple facilities regarding packaging issues.
  • Provide support to R&D regarding packaging issues.
  • Create and update packaging specifications for documentation.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 4 years of relevant experience or advanced degree with 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.

Nice to Have:

  • Specialized knowledge in packaging engineering, lab standards, packaging materials, and sterilization processes.
  • ISO-11607 and Design Control certifications.
  • Experience with 6 Sigma and Lean Principles.
  • Project Management skills.
  • Developing knowledge in supply chain management.
