What the Role Offers - Laboratory Technician


As a Laboratory Technician, your responsibilities will include maintaining PPE stocks for daily operations in F1 and F2 facilities, collecting dirty glassware from laboratories, operating dishwashers, and ensuring the upkeep of washer rooms. You’ll also perform safety equipment checks, operate autoclaves, prepare media and buffers, organize lab spaces, and adhere to GMP guidelines. Additionally, you’ll manage supplies such as washing chemicals, autoclave materials, and PPE items like shoe covers, lab coats, and disposable gloves..


What You Need to Succeed


  • Set and maintain PPE Stocks for daily operations in F1 and F2 Facilities
  • Daily Collection of dirty glassware from Laboratories in the F1and F2 Facilities
  • Operate Dishwashers and wash lab material as needed.
  • Upkeep Washer rooms.
  • Perform weekly safety equipment checks of eyewash fire extinguishers and safety shower.
  • Load and operate autoclave with materials needed for sterilization.
  • Unload autoclave and distribute materials in lab and shelves.
  • Maintain stock of clean autoclave materials in the laboratories.
  • Prepare needed media and buffers in accordance with SOPs.
  • Clean and organize chemical/prep room.
  • Clean and organize media preparation room.
  • Calibrate balances in media preparation room.
  • Organize manufacturing lab in F1 facility maintaining proper organization and cleanliness
  • Daily monitoring and periodic cleaning of lab equipment according to SOPs.
  • Check HPLC eluate bin, recycle, and garbage bins as necessary
  • Collect biohazard waste from manufacturing labs and place in allotted Stericycle bins.
  • Adhere to GMP guidelines in all processes.
  • Maintaining a stock of:
    • Washing supplies/Chemicals
    • Autoclave supplies (sterilization indicator tape, Tyvek pouches, elastic bands, etc.)
    • PPE supplies: shoe covers, lab coats, beard nets, hair nets disposable gloves.


Required Qualifications:


  • High School Diploma at minimum.
  • Associates degree in a scientific discipline such as chemistry, biochemistry, biotechnology, microbiology, or biology preferred.


Physical Demands:


  • Must be present on site for all related responsibilities and be able to routinely perform activities as defined above.
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to dress in sterile gowning in the form of scrubs and clean room coveralls.
  • Ability to handle and work with potentially hazardous chemicals per standard operating procedure.
  • Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds.

Estimated Base Salary: $24.00 - $26.00 / Hourly DOE
