Senior Animator

Day To DayResponsibilities
- Create animations for projects as needed
- Research and test optimal approaches for each platform to hit the highest quality possible within the given tool set
- Work with the Project Art Director and Art Lead to determine what the project requires, then research, develop, and implement it in the project’s engine
- Collaborate with the Project Art Director and Design team to express personalities and mood through animation
- Research and utilize the most relevant animation techniques
- Work with Character Artists to ensure that the character design works with motion requirements
- Works closely with Technical and Character Artists to develop new techniques and tools to improve the animation pipelines
- Make strong, visually impactful animations that enhance the quality of the game
- Work well independently and as part of a larger team
- Work effectively with other artists and engineers to achieve project goals
- Solve problems to the benefit of the project/team
Skills Knowledge and ExpertiseMust Haves
- Experience with Maya or equivalent tools
- Unreal animation experience
- Ability to create strong animations in 2D or 3D in-engine
- Ability to create and work off concepts, storyboards, or reference videos
- Understanding of traditional animation techniques and concepts
- Ability to consider suggestions and devise creative solutions
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to keep an organized and consistent schedule
- Ability to provide accurate time estimates for project planning
- Understanding of bug fixing and investigation
Nice-To-Have Skills
- Storyboarding experience
- 2D animation experience
- Motion graphic experience
- Experience with Unity
- Any degree or certification in Art, or equivalent work experience AND,
- At least 5 years of experience in a similar role
Candidate should provide a portfolio or demo reel of animations that they have created or directed. An art test may be required.
