GENERAL SUMMARY

The Recovery House Manager is a member of the department's interdisciplinary team. Responsible for managing the daily operations of the recovery campus homes, manages staff, and provides case management to the residents. The hours of this position vary and will include nights and weekends.

This position ensures the confidentiality, security, and accuracy of records, and promotes positive employee, customer, and community relations. Strong written and verbal communication skills are required and outstanding customer service to fellow employees, customers, vendors, etc. is expected. Regular attendance is required, and on occasion, later hours or weekend time may be required with project deadlines and a neat well-groomed professional appearance is essential at all times.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Primary responsibilities are the basic job duties that an employee must be able to perform.   • Responsible for providing recovery housing and support services to clients including intakes, orientations, treatment planning, individual and group counseling, case management and discharge planning.
  • Strengthen community resources that support individuals and families in recovery and transitioning to independent living.
  • Identify, establish, and maintain working relationships with Tribal, federal, state and community resources for clients.
  • Refer clients to resources in the community as appropriate: i.e., housing, education, detoxification services, inpatient treatment, mental health, ICW, medical professionals, DSHS etc.
  • Report on suspected child or elder abuse, domestic violence, and threats of harm to the appropriate agency. Collaborate with Tribal law enforcement and ICW to ensure safety of affected family members.
  • Identify community needs and assist the Behavioral Health Program Director in development of resources to address those needs utilizing standards of practice, creativity, and local resources.
  • Transport clients as necessary.
  • Administers and documents various types of toxicology screens.
  • Assist with and provides input for developing program manuals, policies, and procedures; defines program objectives; organizes schedules and facility workspaces; evaluates program performance.
  • Ensure program meets all applicable laws, codes, and policy standards.
  • Participates with the Behavioral Health Program Director in ongoing evaluation of program goals.
  • Review files quarterly for each Recovery House Staff and as needed to ensure adequate documentation of services.
  • Organize client applications and screens clients for appropriate intake.
  • Supervise, train and coach all program staff using the WAC's, RCW's, Tribal policy and other applicable laws, changes in policy/procedure and new technology.
  • Provides daily staff supervision, is effectively involved in selecting and hiring of staff; manages staff scheduling to ensure coverage of facility, delegates work assignments. Promotes teamwork, evaluates staff, develops training curriculum.
  • Follows appropriate disciplinary procedures for staff, completes performance evaluations and required documentation.
  • Assist as needed in the coordination of community events and plans regular house activities.
  • Provide the Behavioral Health Program Director with fiscal and program performance/quality assurance data to assist in reporting; provides reports to a variety of audiences when directed.
  • Notify the Behavioral Health Program Director of any safety, maintenance and/or operational issues of the program.
  • Conducts random and routine inspection of facility, reports findings in appropriate formats, coordinates maintenance and facility repairs.
  • Completes incident reports when appropriate and forwards them to the Behavioral Health Program Director in a timely manner.
  • Because of the Tribe's commitment to community service and the wellbeing of its members, each employee may be expected to perform a wide range of office and field duties from time to time. Such duties may or may not be related to their regular responsibilities.
  • Assist the Behavioral Health Program Director with other duties as assigned.
  • Provides direct counseling and case management services to patients, consisting of individual, group, family, and educational sessions.
  • Must meet travel
  • Attendance at mandatory and approved training.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience

  • A bachelor's degree in a relevant field of study from an accredited college or university is preferred.
    • This requirement may be waived for a minimum of five (5) years of successful experience in the field of substance use disorder and an associate degree.
  • Three (3) years of relevant experience in a residential care/treatment setting.
  • Three (3) years of supervisory experience.
  • Valid Washington State Driver's License and be insurable under the Nisqually Indian Tribe's insurance policy.
  • Computer skills, including Microsoft Office programs.
  • Current CPR training or ability to take and pass CPR class before end of probationary period.
  • This is a safety sensitive position and is subject to random urinalysis drug screens.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Substance Use Disorder Professional/Trainee credential preferred.
  • Washington State Licensed Mental Health Professional/Associate, Marriage and Family Therapist/Associate or Licensed Clinical Social Worker/Associate
  • Knowledge of the Nisqually Indian Tribe's history, customs, traditions, and ability to demonstrate cultural sensitivity.
  • Experience working with Federally Recognized Tribes.

SUPERVISION

  • This position will supervise, train, and evaluate program staff. This person will report to the Behavioral Health Director.

Possesses the knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the essential functions of the position.

Knowledge of:

Familiarity with ASAM and the DSM-5, generally accepted behavioral health assessment, intervention, treatment, and recovery process for adolescents and families, supervision of staff, physical and behavioral health issues, intervention strategies, and pertinent codes, policies, regulations, and laws. Evidence based and best practice models of treatment and housing. Understands and adheres to state (RCW, WAC) and federal confidentiality regulations (42 CFR part 2). Conducts self ethically and professionally always. Knowledge of and culturally sensitive to the challenges of the clients at this agency. This person must sign an oath of permanent confidentiality covering all patient-related information. Must be of the conviction that substance use disorder is a treatable illness and constitutes a public health problem.
