Job Purpose

The Catering/Support Staff will be responsible for providing high-quality food service support for various agency events, including meetings, workshops, and other gatherings. This role is essential to ensuring a welcoming and comfortable environment for clients, staff, and visitors. The ideal candidate will have a strong customer service orientation, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic setting.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in food service is required.
  • Previous experience in catering experience is preferred.
  • Possession of, or capable of acquiring, a Food Handler’s Certification, Allergens Certification, and Food Protection Manager Certification.

Core Job Duties

  • Plan catering events and assist with the setup and breakdown of catering events.
  • Assist in tracking and managing catering supplies and inventory, ensuring items are stocked and available as needed.
  • Responsible for ordering supplies for events.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of catering areas, including kitchens, dining areas, and storage spaces.
  • Assist with training Food Service staff.
  • Ability to adhere to the working conditions:
  1. The role involves standing, walking, bending, and lifting heavy items.
  2. The work environment includes kitchen areas, dining rooms, and event spaces which may be noisy and busy.
  3. Must adhere to the agency’s policies and procedures, including those related to health and safety.
  • Provide excellent customer service to clients, staff, and visitors, addressing any questions or concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Work collaboratively with other staff members to ensure a seamless event experience.
  • Work closely with the Director, Food Services.
  • Travel with occasional overnight stays.
  • Adherence to all applicable evidence-based practice models.
  • Orally communicate information effectively and accurately.
  • Assure program operates within the constraints of the agency’s certification (CARF, DMH) standards and strategic plan related to clinical care.
  • Abide by program and agency policies and procedures.
  • Other job duties and special projects as assigned.
