Qualifications

  • A Master’s Degree in any of the following (or a related field) required: 
    • Marriage and Family Therapy 
    • Clinical Social Work 
    • Counseling (Clinical or Pastoral) 
    • Clinical Mental Health
  • ​​Pursuit or achievement of appropriate state credentials and licensing
    • Supervision not provided through Lane of Roses (but we will help to fundraise the cost for supervision as needed)


Knowledge & Skills

  • Active listening skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A sound understanding of various therapy types, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy, Gestalt therapy, multimodal therapy, and more
  • Ability to incorporate Christian principles into sessions/treatment plans
  • Ability to learn and catch on to new technologies quickly. A working knowledge of software such as TherapyNotes, ShareNotes, and Procentive may be advantageous.

Fundraising Goals & Expectations for Role

  • Willing and able to raise a salary by recruiting a personal support team within 2-3 months.
  • You will discuss and set your salary upon hire with our Director of Staff. We know that as a therapist you may come in with the expectation of an average therapist salary. In working for a non-profit and raising your own support, we encourage you to really pray and allow the Spirit to lead you as you discern the amount to set your salary.


Basic Job Responsibilities

  • Counsels clients, individually and in group sessions, to assist in overcoming dependencies, adjusting to life, and making changes. 
  • Prepares and maintains treatment records and reports, while ensuring confidentiality, according to federal and state guidelines.
  • Guides clients in the development of skills and strategies to deal with their problems or concerns. 
  • Encourages clients to discuss & process what is happening in their lives, and their feelings surrounding these happenings. Encourages the development of  insight into themselves and their relationships.
  • Collects information about clients through intakes, interviews, observations, and assessments (as needed). 
  • Evaluates client’s physical or mental condition based on review of client information & collaborates with other mental health specialists, doctors, nurses, nutritionists, etc. as needed.
  • Makes referrals to specialists as needed.
  • Develops and implements treatment plans based on clinical experience and knowledge. 
  • Acts as a client advocate to coordinate required services or to resolve emergency problems in crisis situations.
  • Responsible for maintenance of clients including, but not limited to, scheduling, communication, billing, intake, etc.
