Position Overview: The estimator is responsible for analyzing project blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for construction projects. This role requires a keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders.


Key Responsibilities:

• Review and interpret project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare accurate cost estimates.

• Perform detailed quantity take-offs and cost analysis for labor, materials, and subcontractor services.

• Develop and maintain relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors to gather accurate pricing information.

• Prepare and present detailed bid proposals and cost estimates to project managers, clients, and stakeholders.

• Collaborate with project managers and construction teams to understand project scope and requirements.

• Analyze historical data and market trends to provide cost-saving recommendations and value engineering solutions.

• Maintain and update a database of pricing information and estimating tools.

• Identify potential risks and opportunities in the project scope and provide recommendations for mitigation.

• Ensure all estimates are completed on time and within budget constraints.


Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).

• Minimum of 3 years of estimating experience within a construction organization

• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations.

• Strong computer skills to including Microsoft Office, Excel, estimating database software, and Onscreen takeoff.

• Excellent mathematical and analytical skills with attention to detail.

• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
