The Senior IT Security Engineer will be responsible for establishing and maintaining an enterprise-wide security and privacy program for JACK Entertainment LLC. The position requires a blend of hands-on security management and leadership experience and must oversee the development and implement of security controls that are aligned with both business and regulatory requirements. There is a strong focus on strategic systems initiatives that will require working closely with the various IT Department and teams to ensure IT Security is a primary consideration throughout the enterprise. The Senior IT Security Engineer will be the owner for activities relating to the overall security, confidentiality, integrity and availability of data and compliance in accordance with governing regulatory policies.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Communicate regularly with auditors, business constituents, and regulators regarding the state of IT Security throughout the enterprise.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive strategic enterprise IT Security program and guide the organization on the appropriate IT Security services, technologies and security best practices.
  • Assess the security impact for any new technology installations, working with the various IT teams and business owners.
  • Monitor emerging IT Security threats; assess the company’s risk and implement mitigating measures on a timely basis.
  • Conduct regular reviews and provide exception/exposure reporting and remediation plans to leadership. Ensure security systems and logs are reviewed on a regular basis.
  • Develop security related training programs, awareness campaigns, metrics and security skills training for the IT Department.
  • Implement enterprise-wide security controls to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of data across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Develop and maintain IT policies and procedures relating to information security.
  • Conduct security audits and technical assessments of the network, internal and external, and work with the IT Department teams on improving security state of the JACK enterprise and its systems.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

The Senior IT Security Engineer must possess all of the knowledge, skills, and abilities defined for the Sr. Security Engineer position, in addition to:

  • Extensive experience in business process improvement, information security, technology management and operational support required.
  • Planning and budgeting analysis experience required.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, people and processes in a very fast moving, high-availability environment.
  • Experience with information system disaster recovery planning and testing, auditing, and risk analysis.
  • Solid understanding and experience with infrastructure; Networking, TCP/IP, Servers and firewalls.
  • Proven ability to implement and configure security appliances such as firewalls, VPNs, DLP and SEIM.

Education & Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in information technology, Management or related field required, or 10+ years of extensive hands-on experience in IT Security management. Audit or Risk related experience is not considered equivalent hands-on experience for this role due to its technical requirements.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with network and endpoint/server security technologies, monitoring, Incident Response, and protective security controls required.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced understanding of enterprise business applications, network and systems.
  • One or more advanced security industry certifications: CISSP, CISM, etc.

License Requirements

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain an Ohio Casino Control Commission (OCCC) Gaming Employee License, Sports Gaming Employee License, and Ohio Lottery Commission (OLC) Casino Gaming Employee License.
