As a Cardiac Sonographer, you will play a vital role in the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular conditions. You will use specialized equipment to produce images of the heart and surrounding structures, providing valuable information for physicians to make accurate diagnoses and develop treatment plans.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform echocardiograms, stress tests, and other cardiac imaging procedures according to established protocols
- Prepare patients for procedures and explain the process to them in a clear and compassionate manner
- Position patients and equipment to obtain the best possible images
- Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment, ensuring proper calibration and functionality
- Analyze images and provide preliminary findings to physicians for further evaluation
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure quality patient care
- Stay up-to-date with advancements in technology and techniques in the field of cardiac sonography
- Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment
Qualifications:
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in Cardiovascular Technology or related field
- ARDMS or CCI certification in Adult Echocardiography
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Cardiac Sonographer
- Strong knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and pathology
- Proficient in operating and troubleshooting ultrasound equipment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Flexibility to work varying shifts and weekends as needed
