Summary Job Description:


The Maintenance Manager will oversee all installation, repair, and upkeep operations of the company's manufacturing facilities including equipment (primary and auxiliary), the building and the property grounds as needed. They will manage maintenance personnel, develop maintenance procedures, leverage an internal CMMS system and ensure the reliability and efficiency of all machinery and systems.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following, other duties may be assigned.

  • Ensure all machinery, equipment, and systems are maintained in optimal working condition.
  • Oversee the repair and replacement of defective equipment.
  • Coordinate with external contractors for specialized repairs or installations.
  • Manage and develop a team of maintenance mechanics, hiring and coaching as necessary
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime.
  • Utilize predictive maintenance techniques to anticipate and address potential issues before they cause failures.
  • Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities and equipment history.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities comply with local, state and federal regulations and company safety policies.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments.
  • Promote a culture of safety and ensure all team members adhere to safety protocols.
  • Develop and manage the maintenance budget, ensuring cost-effective solutions.
  • Monitor and control maintenance expenses, identifying opportunities for cost savings.
  • Procure necessary supplies and spare parts, developing and maintaining stock room inventory level controls
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance maintenance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Analyze maintenance data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Work closely with production and engineering teams to support manufacturing operations.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders regarding maintenance activities and issues.
  • Provide regular reports on maintenance performance and KPIs to upper management.

Job Requirements, Qualifications and Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and industrial systems.
  • Proficient in using CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance standards.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
  • Understanding of transformer manufacturing including coil winding, mechanical and electrical assembly, vacuum pumping systems and electrical testing a plus
  • Ability to lift heavy equipment and comfortable standing or walking for long periods.
  • Must be able to pass background check and drug screen.

Education and Training Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in manufacturing, industrial engineering or mechanical engineering - However, a high level of proven experience may be acceptable
  • A minimum of 5 years of facilities management experience
  • Computer skills including experience with MS Office products, basic ERP system understanding and working knowledge of various equipment and tools
