Supervisory Responsibilities:


The Manager of Cargo and Ground Operations reports directly to the Director of Operations. He manages all activities relating to system wide cargo handling and aircraft ground handling operations by setting the minimum acceptable standards published in the Cargo Loading and Handling manual and providing the Director of Operations with the audit and station evaluation information necessary to assess and authorize operations to each station


Requirements:

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Establish, implement and maintain all departmental policies and procedures, to ensure all Company cargo and ground operations are safe, efficient and in compliance with all applicable Company and governmental regulations.
  • Has the authority to establish and modify the Carriage of Cargo, flight/ load manifest/weight and balance control and Station Facilities interface processes.
  • Provide for the oversight of ground handling services related to cargo operations from third party providers.
  • Coordinate with Company personnel, customers, third party service providers and applicable government agencies to ensure contract/regulatory compliance and customer satisfaction in all aspects of the Company's cargo operations.
  • Conduct periodic audits on all Company cargo operations.
  • Oversee all contract cargo/aircraft Ground Handling services for compliance with the standards set forth in this manual.
  • Produce, revise, and distribute all departmental training aids, directives, reports, form used for the operational control of Cargo and Ground Handling process interfaces to the Flight Operation.
  • Ensure all personnel involved in Company and Contract cargo operations and/or ground handling Company aircraft are properly trained.
  • Evaluate training and performance records of employees (permanent or contract) to determine and formulate training designed to increase employee efficiency, safety, plus ensure compliance with all Company and governmental regulations.
  • Keep the Director of Operations apprised of the compliance status of each company, contract and charter station facility in order that the Director of Operations may make appropriate, operational control decisions.

Required Skills/Abilities:

Have knowledge and experience in cargo handling and hazardous materials.


Education and Experience:

Have training or experience in auditing Part 121 airline processes.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
