POSITION OVERVIEW  

We are looking for internal candidates to fill Farm Tech 2 roles. In addition to crop handling responsibilities that include seeding, transplanting, and harvesting leafy greens and herbs, these individuals will facilitate new hire training and act as back-up Line Leads and Machine Operators. Farm Tech 2s will act as mentors and points of contact for new hires, providing guidance and support during their onboarding process. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

Training:

  • Deliver hands-on training to ensure employees understand and adhere to safety guidelines and best practices.
  • Demonstrate proper techniques for operating production equipment and machinery.
  • Provide guidance and support to new hires during onboarding and training periods.
  • Collaborate with production managers to identify training needs
  • Monitor trainee progress and provide feedback to ensure proficiency in production tasks.
  • Conduct refresher training sessions as needed to reinforce learning and address any gaps in knowledge or skills.
  • Maintain training records and documentation in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Act as a mentor and point of contact for new hires, providing guidance and support during their onboarding process.
  • Provide ongoing support and feedback to new hires to facilitate their integration into the production team.

Production:

  • Seeding, transplanting, and harvesting crops using highly automated machinery
  • Basic cleaning and sanitation of work areas
  • Following all GMP’s to ensure food safety
  • Act as back-up to Line Leads and/or Machine Operators
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • 6+ months of experience as a Farm Tech 1
  • Completion of all Seeding, Transplant, and Harvest training courses
  • Completion of Monthly Safety trainings
  • Has no more than 3 attendance points
  • Strong understanding of food safety regulations and quality assurance standards
  • Welcoming and patient disposition
  • Ability to engage and motivate trainees in a hands-on learning environment
  • Strong communication skills
