Job Summary:
As a DQE Supervisor of Project Management, you will be responsible for overseeing and guiding the project management team to deliver projects on time, within scope, and within budget. This role involves planning, executing, and closing projects, while managing resources, timelines, and stakeholder expectations. You'll be responsible for driving the successful delivery of projects from inception to completion, while ensuring alignment with strategic objectives, quality standards, and client expectations. Must be local to the Pittsburgh area. Hybrid work environment.
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of project managers, by setting clear goals and performance expectations for team members.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback.
- Act as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders, including internal teams, clients, and vendors.
- Communicate project status, updates, and changes effectively to all stakeholders.
- Prepare and manage project budgets, ensuring cost-efficiency and adherence to financial constraints, this includes monitoring and controlling project expenditures, making adjustments as necessary.
- Allocate resources effectively to maximize project efficiency and success.
- Facilitate meetings and presentations to keep stakeholders informed and engaged.
- Implement and enforce best practices and standards for project management processes.
- Analyze project performance and identify opportunities for process improvements.
- Implement lessons learned from past projects to enhance future project outcomes.
- Coordinate OSP design and permitting with Outside Plant Engineers, Permits and Application and Building Access groups for the construction of the fiber optic plant.
- Assist Permits and Applications department in ride outs with Utilities, ILECS, CLECS and other Pole attaching companies for the negotiation of make readies to ensure DQE is receiving just costs for DQE attachments.
- Ride out proposed construction plan with OSP Engineer to ensure design of network meets CAPEX budget and customer expectations.
- Coordinate aerial, underground, building entrance/internal construction with subcontractors, customers, property managers and property owners.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to effectively guide and motivate a team.
- Proven ability to manage complex projects and lead cross-functional teams.
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies and tools, knowledge of SiteTracker is preferred.
- Understanding of Optical Time Domain Reflectometer results.
- Understanding of splicing procedures.
- Familiarity with OSP Equipment and Lit Service Equipment.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to analyze problems, develop solutions, and make sound decisions under pressure.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in project management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in project management within the telecommunications industry, with at least 2-3 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
