Job DescriptionJob Description

Midland University, a small, private four-year college in Fremont, Nebraska, (just outside of metro Omaha) is seeking an exceptional adjunct faculty member to teach theater courses in an in-person format. This would include topics such as directing, acting, and costume & make-up design. Responsibilities include preparing and delivering in-person class activities, developing engaging online materials and assessments, providing timely feedback on written assignments, and responding to student inquiries within 24-hours, meeting with them individually as needed. Courses are offered in 16-week terms. Term begins in August.

Qualifications:

• A master's degree in Theater or closely-related discipline is required

• A minimum of 3 years of professional work experience, teaching at the college level or teaching/ training adults is highly preferred


The ideal candidate should demonstrate:

• A desire to use innovative instructional techniques

• A willingness to collaborate with peers

• A genuine interest in student development

• An ability to work with diverse student populations

• Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to foster a collegial work environment that encourages change and innovation; and an ability to interact effectively and work productively, cooperatively, and collaboratively with a variety of individuals and groups
