EXEMPT: NO

DIVISION: HOURS: 8:00am - 5:00pm

REPORTS TO: Account Manager

DAYS: Monday-Friday


Job Summary:

The Mechanic will perform mechanical repairs on landscape equipment and minor vehicle repairs and maintenance on vehicles.

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Perform maintenance and repairs such as tune-ups and oil changes, checks tires and brakes, replaces spark plugs and engages in other similar tasks.
  • Test drives vehicles to ensure repairs are completed property.
  • Cleans the shop and returns tools to proper location.
  • Maintains inventory of replacement parts and equipment.
  • Inspects tools and equipment to ensure they are in working order.
  • Repair or replace damage parts. Sharpen equipment blades.
  • Updates maintenance and repair logs for vehicles.
  • Maintains constant watch for any safety problems or possible unsafe work practices, so as to work in the safest, accident free manner possible.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Knowledge of vehicle and landscape equipment repair.
  • Excellent mechanical skills.
  • Ability to follow instructions.
  • Ability to use power and hand tools.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read service and repair manuals.
  • Ability to complete assigned tasks in a timely fashion.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and have a satisfactory driving record
Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Related experience preferred.

Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to bend, stretch, kneel, and squat to perform repairs and inspections.
  • Must be able to work safely in a noisy area with many odors present.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds at a time.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
