What you'll do:

  • Overall responsibly for managing the procurement process for all electronic components required for production ensuring a steady supply chain, cost effectiveness, and adherence to quality standards.

  • Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers, negotiating contracts, terms, and pricing agreements to secure favorable arrangements.

  • Ability to understand project requirements, forecast needs, and develop procurement strategies to meet timelines and cost requirements.
  • Discuss technical requirements with vendors such as dimensions, tolerances, finishes etc.
  • Act as a technical resource for the Procurement department.
  • Prepare and present possible solutions to management when issues arise.
  • Participate in vendor reevaluation and audit activities in tandem with quality department.
  • Compare bids from vendors and determine, or assists with determination, to whom contracts will be awarded.
  • Reviews cost proposals and pricing information to determine best options that meet needs and quality standards.
  • Researches, analyzes, and forecasts current and future buying trends, markets, styles, and products, with attention to specified target market and demographics.
  • Prepares and processes purchase orders, contracts, and requisitions for materials, supplies, and equipment.
  • Review open purchase orders with vendors to ensure delivery is on time, of quality, and accurate.
  • Maintain information regarding vendors' performance and quality of product(s).

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree from four-year College or University OR 4 to 6 years related Technical/Purchasing experience, OR a combination of education and experience
  • Strong understanding of electronic components, materials, and manufacturing processes
  • Proven Purchasing experience, preferably within the electronics industry
  • CPIM or CSCP certification preferred
