About the Team

Our medical department is dedicated to helping our clients improve their lives through a coordinated approach to care involving clients, their caregivers, their clinical staff, and primary care providers. We are proud to be part of a state-wide community of people who share our values, and part of a company that supports us so we can support our clients The Certified Medical Assistants work as members of the medical/nursing team to provide care to a mentally ill population.

What You’ll Do

  • Greet patients and take their vitals, administer injections, collect health information, etc.
  • Coordinate timely and efficient patient flow in the department
  • Complete prior authorizations, laboratory requisitions, and other forms
  • Obtain patient records, answer calls and relay information in a timely manner

Good To Know

  • Position is based in Anchorage, Alaska
  • Full-Time, Non-Exempt
  • Pay Range is between $21.00 to $27.18 depending on experience. Eligible for up to $6,600 in incentive with the average being $2,500
  • Student Loan Repayment and Tuition Assistance is Available – Professional Growth is encouraged
  • AKBH offers generous benefits including two healthcare options for employees and their dependent children, 401k with immediate vesting and up to 5% match, 3% automatically contributed by AKBH, and 3 weeks of PTO for the first year, and 6 weeks of PTO after the first year, as well as 10 paid holidays.

What We Need from You

  • You have a High School Diploma or GED and are a CMA with certification in CPR and First Aid
  • You are comfortable with EMR usage and are a fast learner with computer programs
