Job Summary:

The Production Planner/Buyer plays a critical role in ensuring the seamless production of all products at our plant. This position involves creating and managing the production schedule, coordinating with vendors, and overseeing material procurement. The ideal candidate will excel in cross-functional communication, problem-solving, and efficiency optimization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain the master production schedule, factoring in forecasts, inventory levels, material availability, and other relevant data.
• Coordinate production runs and changeovers, ensuring compliance with food safety and allergen protocols, while aligning with workforce schedules and maintaining operational efficiency.
• Monitor production progress, adjust schedules as needed, and address any issues affecting production timelines.
• Communicate effectively with operations and cross-functional teams to share updates on schedules, material orders, and other operational needs.
• Collaborate with finance, sales, and R&D teams on special projects, including trials and sales sample runs.
• Partner with procurement and quality teams to manage expiring ingredients and on-hold items efficiently.
• Contribute to the development and documentation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and other critical processes.
• Oversee inventory management for materials and finished products, including assisting with the tempering process.
• Adhere to all company policies to foster a safe, efficient, and respectful work environment.
• Perform additional duties as required to support the company's objectives.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in system-based scheduling within a food manufacturing environment.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree, or related certifications preferred.
• Proficiency with ERP systems or demonstrated ability to quickly learn new systems.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Strong mathematical skills, including basic calculations and measurements.
• Understanding of warehouse and inventory management practices.
• Positive attitude with a strong commitment to supporting company culture, people, and brands.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
• Capability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Manual dexterity for handling paperwork and operating office equipment.
• Visual acuity to review documents and monitor production schedules.
• Ability to work in a plant environment, which may include exposure to varying temperatures and noise levels.
