The Position:


The Aquatics Manager position with British Swim School is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the aquatics program and customer service interactions. Priorities include ensuring the British Swim School program is delivered according to brand and safety standards, instructor team management, initial and ongoing training, customer conversations as well as teaching lessons when and if necessary.

In this position, you will be responsible for training, coaching, developing, and retaining a vibrant swim instructor team. This will result in the retention, success, and positive customer experience for our students and families in the British Swim School Aquatics Program. Results are achieved through analysis, strategic planning, execution and leadership, promoting a fun and gentle approach to student engagement and progression.

This position will also require due diligence with tracking required certifications for instructors as well as continuing the employee's development and competency and skills.

This role requires a true team player who values organizational success over personal gain. Assuring patrons receive the highest level of service while maintaining a safe environment is a critical success factor for this position. We are seeking an individual with passion for working with children and young people and love water.




Your Typical Responsibilities:


Interview, hire, onboard, and manage employees to maintain a smooth execution of daily aquatics and service operations.
Creation of employee schedules, and pool lesson schedules.
Address and document employee, customer, and pool incidents that occur.
Teach and lead swimming lessons as needed.
Supervise, train, coach and retain a dynamic team of swim instructors.
Ability to handle parents complaints and work towards finding a positive resolution.
Ensure pool locations have proper inventory of supplies for lessons
Conduct training, reviews, recognition, and individual development of aquatics staff
Manage performance of aquatics associates utilizing personal improvement plans, coaching and disciplinary tools in consultation with Franchise Business Owner

Minimum Qualifications:


High School diploma or equivalent
Excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications:


  • Experience in swimming and fitness teaching/management is preferred. A specialist aquatics qualification is desirable, but not required.
Lifeguard, CPR, First Aid Certifications, may be obtained during training.
