Business Systems Analyst

Location: PORTLAND, OR

***CANDIDATES MUST BE LOCAL. WILL WORK IN THE OFFICE OND DAY PER WEEK***

Hours: 7:30am - 4:30pm


Our client is seeking a skilled and proactive Business Systems Analyst to support the IPI & FITNES Workflow Management (Alden One) project. In this role, you will be responsible for leading and facilitating requirements gathering sessions, documenting detailed requirements, and creating comprehensive user stories and data mapping documents for multiple system integrations. You will interact heavily with both technical and business stakeholders to ensure project success within an aggressive timeline.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate Requirements Gathering: Lead and facilitate requirements gathering sessions with vendors and subject matter experts (SMEs) to collect and understand project needs.
  • Documentation: Accurately document requirements and create user stories that clearly outline functional needs and objectives.
  • Data Mapping: Develop and maintain detailed data mapping documents for seamless integration across multiple systems.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with both technical staff and business employees to ensure alignment and understanding of project requirements and deliverables.
  • Project Support: Proactively support the project team in meeting tight deadlines and managing aggressive project timelines.


A Day in the Life:

  • Prepare for and lead requirements gathering sessions with vendors and SMEs.
  • Document requirements, write user stories, and develop data mapping documents.
  • Engage with technical SMEs and business stakeholders to clarify requirements and ensure accurate data mapping.
  • Prepare for and facilitate requirements gathering sessions with business SMEs.
  • Document requirements and translate them into user stories.
  • Begin creating data mapping documents to support system integrations.
  • Navigate and manage the tight project schedule while ensuring all deliverables are met on time.


Must Have:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst or in a similar role.
  • Facilitation of Requirement Gathering Sessions: Proven experience in leading effective requirements gathering sessions.
  • Preparing Data Mapping Documents: Ability to create clear and accurate data mapping documents.
  • Writing User Stories: Strong skills in writing detailed and actionable user stories.


A Plus:

  • Experience working in the utilities sector.
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative and work independently.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.


Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field. Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Business Analyst certification is a plus.
