TARGAN is looking for a Purchasing Coordinator to join the Supply Chain team. The Purchasing Coordinator primarily supports the purchasing team and facilitates various supply chain functions. This includes order and data entry, order follow-up, and streamlining suppliers' and internal teams' communication. In this role, the individual will learn the fundamentals of procurement and grow to be an integral part of the supply chain team.


  • Assists in the purchasing of products, raw materials, and services to fulfill demands.
  • Follows up on orders to ensure the product is delivered in line with the production schedule.
  • Enters and compiles RFQs to determine the best pricing with the purchasing team.
  • Communicate promptly and effectively with Accounts Payable to ensure that all invoices are paid promptly.
  • Ability to analyze reorder points and react quickly to maintain inventory demands.
  • Collaborates with engineering and production teams to stay ahead of needs and react quickly to changing demands.
  • ERP data entry and clean-up.
  • Main internal customer point of contact for orders.
  • Facilitates companywide compliance with corporate purchasing procedures.
  • Research alternative sources to reduce cost and improve lead times.
  • Monitors the performance of suppliers, assessing their ability to meet quality and delivery requirements in collaboration with the supply chain team.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • ERP/MRP systems experience a plus.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment preferred.

  • The ability to analyze data, find meaningful insights and note important trends.
  • Strong computer skills, experience using Excel.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a proven ability to create and maintain positive working relationships with vendors, suppliers, shippers, and customers.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Thorough understanding of company products.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize based on company need.
  • One or more years with purchasing or industry experience
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Proven ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Eager and willing to learn.
  • Desire to pursue a career in purchasing and supply chain.
