GENERAL SUMMARY:
The individual in this position will supervise all warehouse workers and the organization of donated merchandise for distribution from the main warehouse to SMH stores; maintain the safety, cleanliness and organization of the main warehouses and adjacent areas; organize and assure compliance with SMH policies and procedures.
ESSENTIAL TASKS
- Supervises, coordinates, provides leadership to and reviews the work of assigned staff.
- Estimates staffing needs, assigns work, recommends candidates for employment, makes recommendations for termination, conducts performance evaluations and salary reviews for assigned staff and is responsible for the application of company policies
- Maintain positive team building relationships throughout all areas with fellow employees, understand staff specific needs, preferred lanes and schedules.
- Assure organized and efficient use of dumpsters.
- Ownership of all St. Matthew’s House property within the fenced in area. Area must be policed daily to demonstrate pride in the property.
- Maintain communication with store managers to assure proper inventory levels are being maintained.
- Develop, implement and maintain industry leading practices in processing and pricing donated merchandise. Reduce waste of valuable assets through lack of training, lack of attention and lack of concern.
- Work with Fleet and Donation Drop-off Managers to make sure that donated items are being handled safely and efficiently.
- Recommend and implement appropriate action plans for process improvement.
- Manage dispatch staff to achieve maximum work flow efficiency.
- Develop and maintain fueling depot program; ensure audit and reporting are accurate and timely.
- Monitor overall compliance with local, state, and federal requirements relating to the operation, preventive maintenance and special conditions of warehouse equipment.
- Safety is foremost in all we do; this position must take that into consideration for every decision.
- Provide a weekly accomplishment summary report to the Director of Retail operations.
- Perform related work as required.

Education: High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
Experience: Minimum 2 years trucking experience, moving and customer service/retail store experience essential.
Travel Demands: Flexibility in work hours; this position requires some overtime.
Confidentiality: Works with confidential information.
Mental/Visual Demands: Flow of work requires normal mental and visual capabilities.
Physical Demands: Must be able to lift and carry more than 75 pounds (34 kg) for
extended periods of time.
Working Conditions: Warehouses and surrounding storage and operational spaces.
