Summary

We are a passionate, dynamic team, and we're looking for a skilled Horticulturist to help us bring our vision to life.

Duties

  • Design Cultivate: Lead the planning, design, and cultivation of diverse horticultural projects. Manage plant installations that thrive in their environments and captivate all who see them.
  • Greenhouse Management: Oversee the operation of three greenhouses and a plant nursery, including scheduling and participation in propagation, cultivation, and harvesting of horticultural specialties such as trees, shrubs, and flowering plants. Ensure the proper maintenance of greenhouse systems, including filtration, aeration, misting, and water systems.
  • Landscape Design: Plan, design, and coordinate a variety of horticultural, arboreal, and grounds maintenance duties. Ensure that all landscaping adheres to the master landscape plan while maximizing resources and planning for future growth.
  • Collaboration Innovation: Work closely with the Grounds Maintenance Supervisor and other team members to improve and maintain the beautification of installations, while also bringing innovative ideas to life.


Requirements

  • Credentials: Degree or Certification in Horticulture, Nursery or Greenhouse Management, Landscape Design, Turf Management, Master Gardener Certification, NALP Certification, or equivalent.
  • Experience: Proven practical experience in horticulture, with the ability to effectively manage and nurture plant life.
  • Passion: A deep love for plants and a commitment to making every project successful.
  • Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities, creative thinking, and excellent communication skills.


Nice To Haves

Community Involvement:
  • Experience in community outreach or educational programs related to horticulture
  • Participation in local horticultural societies or environmental organizations

Project Management Experience:
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Experience in budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation for large-scale landscaping projects

Advanced Certifications:
  • Certified Professional Horticulturist (CPH)
  • ISA Certified Arborist
  • LEED Green Associate Certification

Software Skills:
  • Proficiency in landscape design software (e.g., AutoCAD, SketchUp, or Adobe Creative Suite)
  • Familiarity with project management tools (e.g., Asana, Trello)
