Job Overview

The role of the Horticultural Assistant involves engaging in practical gardening tasks across various light conditions, under the supervision of the Senior Horticulturist.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain the overall health and appearance of the garden
  • Conduct routine weed management
  • Identify and address plant nutrition issues
  • Detect and manage pest-related problems
  • Assist in the transplantation of plants
  • Execute planting and removal tasks
  • Fulfill general watering requirements for the garden
  • Act as a horticultural advisor for the garden
  • Participate in special projects as directed

Qualifications:

  • Associate Degree in horticulture, botany, or a related discipline, or two years of relevant gardening experience
  • Ability to perform moderate physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Proficient in operating both hand and power gardening tools
  • Capability to apply herbicides under supervision
  • Experience in public interaction is advantageous
  • Possession of a valid Driver's License with a clean driving record
  • Fluency in English is required
  • Basic computer skills are necessary
  • Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
