We are seeking a Production Supervisor to join our team This position will supervise and coordinate union-hourly workers engaged in the manufacturing of parts or products with a focus on safety, quality conformance, and efficiency. The ideal candidate will be mechanically inclined and experienced in the manufacturing field. Supervisory experience preferred.

This is a full-time position located in Lancaster, PA. Third shift hours of operation are Sunday - Thursday 9:30 PM – 6 AM.

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Directly supervises up to 15 employees according to company policies and procedures, including interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems
  • Maintains safe work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment; maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures
  • Computes amounts of stock and supplies required for operations, based on production schedules, and requisitions materials from storage are
  • Interfaces with others in the organization to ensure customer deadlines are met
  • Directs workers in adjusting machines and equipment to repair products which fail to meet standards
  • Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules
  • Develops, recommends, and implements measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of products
  • Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department or work crew
  • Supervises employees in layout and machine operation to fabricate metal products
  • Maintains time and production records
  • Estimates, requisitions, and inspects materials

Secondary Responsibilities:

  • Interprets specifications, blueprints, and job orders, and assigns duties. Confers with management or engineering staff to determine quality and reliability standards
  • Recommends modifications of existing quality or production standards to achieve optimum quality within limits of equipment capability

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places, toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
