ESSC/PL Position Summary:

This position is a combined role of student success coaching at Delaware Elementary School and program leading at Dream Center Evansville (DCE) as defined by the following descriptions.


Student Success Coach (SSC)- is responsible for providing support for DCE students at Delaware Elementary School.  SSCs ensure students feel encouraged and supported in the school environment so they can do their best in the classroom and achieve academically. 


Program Leader (PL)-  Program Leaders (PL) are responsible for planning and facilitating DCE’s out of school elementary youth programming. Program Leaders are vital team members who implement the strategic action of the Youth Development Team to ensure DCE students thrive, achieve academic success, and meet milestones of the Cradle to Career continuum (CtC).  Daily responsibilities include program planning, academic support, classroom management, and ensuring youth have a safe & fun environment to grow. Program leaders must be willing to work until 6:30pm as required.


Principal Responsibilities:

  1. Student Success Coaching: SSCs work with the staff of Delaware to provide support for Dream Center students within the school setting.  PMs provide small group and one-on-one meetings during the school day to promote student success, goal setting, and social/emotional learning (SEL).  PMs may also assist with the supervision of students during lunch periods/recess and other times as determined in coordination with school staff.


  1. Program Facilitation: This position is responsible for ensuring the safety and enjoyability of out of school program environments through the implementation of: 
  • Best-practice classroom management skills,  
  • Social Emotional Learning (SEL) based curriculum,
  • High quality, engaging classroom and gym activities,
  • Bible based ministry curriculum,
  • Positive youth development strategies,  
  • Connecting with students in meaningful ways.


PLs are directly responsible for creating a positive culture and atmosphere in the out-of-school programs. PLs work in a way that is consistent with the vision, mission, and culture of Dream Center Evansville. 

  1. Spiritual & SEL Development: This position is responsible for developing an evangelistic environment around them that nourishes program participants’ walk with Christ. PLs may be responsible for providing small group ministry that uses bible lessons, worship songs, and/or other activities to deliver the message of The Gospel. PLs use best practice strategies to interact with students socially, emotionally, and behaviorally to teach them about Biblical truths and their life applications. 


  1. Academic Development:  PLs may facilitate out of school academic interventions as assigned by the academic development team. PLs may be required to plan and lead hands-on activities based on STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) projects as assigned by the Academic Development Team and/or the Elementary Pathway Coordinator.  PLs plan activities that engage students in various learning and enrichment domains. 


Job Specifications Requirements

  • At least 1 year of experience with children and managing a classroom setting 
  • Models behavior that is consistent with Christ’s teaching
  • Must be a member or regular attender of a Bible-believing church
  • Has a personal saving relationship with Jesus Christ 
  • Proven ability to work in a fast pace environment 
  • Can multitask effectively 
  • Passionate about changing the lives of students in the Jacobsville community
  • Be 21 years of age and willing to be trained to drive 15 passenger vans/busses
  • Demonstrates strong relationship building skills with children and adults


Conditions of Employment:

  • Pass a background check.
  • Hold a valid driver’s license, and be comfortable to safely operate any of the DCE vehicles transporting students, including a 15-passenger van.
  • Criminal background check must show no conviction of a felony or misdemeanor crime including, but not limited to abuse, drugs or alcohol, neglect, theft or fraud.
